Getting Started with Vocational Rehabilitation!

Project ACCESS

The materials contained in this section are intended to help the VR counselor with:

Making their presence known in the high school,
Beginning gathering information,
Establishing rapport,
Clarifying their role, and
Offering the opportunity for follow up.

These materials may be used, edited or omitted based on the preference of the VR counselor. As a reminder when beginning to build relationships with schools, all schools have distinct cultures, and each staff member that you work with will have their own style, personality and preferences. These materials are meant to be helpful in getting in the door and beginning the education process of students and staff as you start your work with them.
